We are pleased to welcome returning guest Andrew Hayes. In his groundbreaking initiative, Hayes proposes the establishment of a "Doge-like Commission," a collaborative coalition of school districts aimed at enhancing accountability, transparency, and parental involvement in our education system.
The primary intention of this commission is to address the pressing inefficiencies in school district budgets, where a staggering 80% is currently allocated to administrative costs, leaving only a fraction for direct classroom benefits. By fostering a united front among districts, the commission will work to identify and eliminate wasteful spending, ensuring that resources are redirected towards essential educational programs that directly impact student learning outcomes.
The desired outcomes of the Doge-like Commission include improved educational performance in core subjects such as math, reading, and writing, as well as increased parental engagement in the educational process. By empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to monitor school spending and curriculum decisions, the commission aims to secure and enhance parental rights, ensuring that families have a voice in their children's education.
Through this innovative approach, Andrew Hayes envisions a more efficient, accountable, and responsive educational system that prioritizes the needs of students and families in San Diego County. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children, where educational resources are maximized, and parental rights are upheld.
El Cajon’s Mayor Bill Wells, shares his efforts to pass an Anti-Semitism Resolution in collaboration with Stand With Israel, a non-political non-profit organization. This initiative aims to address the rising tide of anti-Semitism and to clearly express the community's commitment to combating hate and intolerance.
Mayor Wells hopes that this resolution will lead to changes in city ordinances that enhance protections against anti-Semitism through law enforcement. By strengthening legal frameworks, the resolution aims to ensure that incidents of hate are addressed swiftly and effectively, providing greater safety and security for all community members.
Mayor Wells is determined to create a united front against anti-Semitism, reinforcing the message that such behavior will not be tolerated. Through this resolution, he aims to foster a community that stands together against all forms of hatred and discrimination.
Mayor Well’s and the City Council hope to formalize the final resolution at next Tuesdays City Council meeting.
